Momentum Miami shares demographic data as it is self-reported to us from our designated programs. Since we began in 2022, the number of programs reporting this data has decreased. Only 26,000 participants– out of the over 300,000 total– were captured in the reporting of the number of women and BIPOC in their programs, and just a fraction of that reported on LGBTQ+ participants.

“Momentum Miami has elevated our ability to support Miami’s tech community with clarity and scale. By curating a portfolio of vetted, high-impact programs, they’ve helped us reach more small businesses, strengthen the local talent pipeline, and ensure our philanthropic investments help drive measurable, community-wide results.

Since breaking into tech my yearly income has increased by 300%. I take pride in my work and am confident that the skills I’m learning will benefit me in my future endeavors.”

Made possible with our partners

The impact achieved by our Momentum Miami designated projects and their respective funders is a testament to the power of collective impact, but community initiatives still face substantial challenges to realizing their full potential. First, as an evolving and growing ecosystem, the pool of funders is still very limited and the heads of social impact for large corporations not based in Miami. Second, we have many hyper local initiatives that have deep impact but difficulty gaining funding partially due to lack of visibility into their work. 63% of projects state the need for visibility and amplification support. Third, our ecosystem is still very fragmented, and 73% of projects indicated a desire to foster more strategic partnerships.

Together, these partnerships have laid the groundwork for a future where all Miami residents can thrive in a digital-first economy—and the work has only just begun. In the future, we will continue to:

• Foster a business community invested in building this ecosystem,
• Increase the percentage of projects funded, and
• Increase the amount of MM earmarked funding.
